The Last Of Us Movie to follow the game's plot
When discussing the rapidly progressing 'The Last Of Us' movie with IGN the games creative director Neil Druckman has mentioned how the game will be "an adaptation of the story of the last of us". He continued by further elaborating on the adaptation "As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film... We're not sure yet. We're only just scratching the surface."
The Last Of Us was one of the most impressive and uniquely strong story based games of the PS3 generation, it's telling that it's being moved to a movie so quickly. With such a strong plot and fantastic characters to base a film on it'll be hard for the creative team to really knuckle down and select the best elements of the games excellent story.
As a huge winner of 5 awards at this years Video Game BAFTAs The Last Of Us continues to prove that designing both a challenging and deep game with a quality storyline and engaging mechanics has real value in an industry oft focussed on guns, explosions and vapid characters. If the team behind the game can drive forward a quality and truly representative movie that remains faithful to the game, then this could no doubt be something very special indeed. We'll be looking forward to the movie and keeping our eyes and ears open for any news as it breaks.
