H1Z1 Zombie MMO "Would Suck" if vital resources were paid for!

When discussing the upcoming Zombie MMO H1Z1 Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley has confirmed that players of the game will not be able to purchase any performance enhancing items that could unfairly balance the game. On the games dedicated subreddit Smedley notes that the games development team came to several conclusions regarding the monetization of the in game currency 'Station Cash' and how it will be utilised.

On the subreddit the team mentions "We will NOT be selling Guns, Ammo, Food, Water... i.e. That's kind of the whole game and it would suck in our opinion if we did that, Nor will we sell boosts that will impact." As such the games revenue model will be based around wearable items, additional to those that will be included within the game that the designers feel will be a "good, fair revenue generator".

Players will be able to loot items from others when they have defeated them, including their premium items. However, in efforts to keep things fair players who have purchased premium items will keep their original copy, but those that have defeated them will get a duplicate version they can proudly use until they have died several times. Smedley said "So if a player has a black ski mask and gets killed by another player, that player can wear the ski mask for a few deaths. This gives the great feeling of whacking some unsuspecting fool who decided to bring a knife to a gun fight."

It has also been mentioned that there will be quite a few new elements added to the game such as, emote packs, extra character slots and mixed item loot crates that will contain a mix of premium items. Sounds like there will be plenty to get our teeth into when H1Z1 launches in the not too distant future. With the game being created by Sony Online Entertainment we imagine it'll be available likely on PC and Playstation 4.
