As fans of the Batman mythos and having a big love for all the characters within it, the prospect of Gotham, the TV show based on the early years of Detective Jim Gordon, Bruce Wayne and Batman's many rogues has us excited. With the show set to debut this coming fall anticipation is high, to help bridge the gap FOX have released the following debut trailer to give us an idea of what to expect.
The trailer certainly presents what looks like a gritty and reasonably dark show, very much fitting the tone of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and indeed the best of the Batman comics. The trailer shows Ben McKenzie's Jim Gordon settling in to his role as a detective in the Gotham police force and having to deal with the dark and difficult nature the denizens of Gotham possess. Additionally we get a glimpse at a series of Villains including The Penguin, Catwoman, The Riddler and the previously unannounced Poison Ivy.
The show looks set to truly give us a faithful recreation of the early years of Gotham and a further exploration of the origins of both Jim Gordon and Batman's sizeable rogues gallery. Of course the show will rely on the strength of it's story, but if the trailer is anything to go by, it's already got great potential. Are you excited to see Gotham? Does the trailer have your anticipation levels up?
