Have you seen Marvel's Ant-Man trailer yet?!

Well have you? In a week that has been completely and utterly filled with epic trailers including the first teaser for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and the eagerly anticipated second look at the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens it's likely you'll have missed Marvel's full trailer for their upcoming summer blockbuster Ant-Man. So without further ado why not take a look at the action and humour packed trailer below.

We've been sceptical about Ant-Man as a movie ever since the announcement that original writer/director Edgar Wright left the movie due to creative differences. As such we've held a lot of hope that Paul Rudd, who plays the films titular Ant Man would drive a real appeal and character to this movie that could've been noticeably absent without Wright. We're pretty happy to say that things do look bright for the move with Rudd's Scott Lang/Ant Man really standing out in the trailer as a likeable character with a great story to tell.

That said, we're not convinced by the cast rounding out the rest of the movie so far - though this is based purely on their depiction in the trailer - not having read much of the comics, the antagonist Darren Cross/Yellow Jacket played by Corey Stoll seems framed far too easily as the villain within the trailers taking away some of the intrigue and tension that we expect may be visible in the movie. The trailer certainly highlights some of the action we can expect in the movie, especially with the small to large dynamic inherent within the powers granted by the Ant-Man suit, the transitional effects for which look excellent.

With a sprinkling of humour the trailer rounds up as a great case for yet another excellent Marvel movie with a strong leading man in the shape of Paul Rudd. However, something doesn't seem quite right for us with the trailer and the movie up to now and we feel it has the potential to fall short of the rigorously high standards Marvel fans have come to expect. Granted, this is a trailer and we have a lot of faith in Marvel producing a compelling story with compelling characters, here's hoping this will remain the case when the movie releases this July.

What do you think to the Ant-Man trailer does it give you any doubts or do you think it looks straight up awesome? Why not let us know in the comments below!
