The Joker will be in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice!

Fresh rumours surfacing from the team over at Latino Review suggest that there's a high chance that we may well see Jared Leto's freshly revealed Joker in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The rumour has it that The Joker will appear for a flashback scene in which he is depicted carrying out one of his most notorious acts from within the comics. The scene - more on that below - is expected to act as both an introduction to Leto's Joker, a catalyst to bring us up to speed with our new Dark Knight's motives and to set the stage for where we see The Joker in the Suicide Squad movie.

So what scene could do all that, well if you want to know more, keep on reading below, but do be warned there are some definite spoilers ahead.

Of course, for those who know Batman, one of the most pivotal stories over the last half century was that of 'A Death in the Family', a story which featured The Joker at his most wicked and changed the outlook of The Dark Knight from there on out. In this story The Joker makes the shocking move of beating to death Batman's second Robin, Jason Todd, viciously murdering him with a crowbar and bringing Batman to his knees in dismay.

Rumour has it that this will likely be seen as a flashback in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice serving as a means to show why The Dark Knight had previously hung up the cape. Only being drawn out once more by the actions of Superman. It's likely that this scene could be triggered due to Robin's costume appearing within the batcave, something that the eagle-eyed out there have spotted within the very brief glimpses of it within the debut teaser trailer for the movie.

Furthermore, this scene is believed to setup The Joker's expected imprisonment prior to the events of Suicide Squad nicely segueing and conjoining both movies and providing some extra early footing for DC's shared cinematic universe. Alongside this, Ben Affleck is rumoured to have been spotted in Toronto where production is underway for the Suicide Squad movie, suggesting that Batman may well have a part - be it large or small - to play in that movie too.

What do you think to these new rumours and potential story setups for the DCU. If we're being honest, we absolutely love the idea of a murdered Robin being a catalyst for an angrier, fiercer Dark Knight in tone with that of Frank Miller's creation. This cherry picking from the rich heritage of Batman stories also serves the fans in a great way, creating an amalgamation of the best of Batman and giving us a glimpse at more of the stories we'd love to see crafted in film.
