Guillermo del Toro, Hideo Kojima and Norman Reedus team up to for new horror game series entry 'Silent Hills'
It's pretty much an unbelievable headline as far as gaming goes, but, it is in fact true. Hideo Kojima, creator of the ever sensational Metal Gear Solid franchise is partnering up with movie making master Guillermo del Toro, the man behind amazing films such as Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth and Pacific Rim to create a brand new entry to the Silent Hill horror franchise titled 'Silent Hills'. Oh, and to top it all off Norman Reedus aka Daryl Dixon of AMC's excellent The Walking Dead TV show will be starring in it.
In a genius piece of marketing the announcement for the game came in the form of an interactive teaser placed on Sony's Playstation store, the same teaser referred to as the P.T. Demo at Sony's Gamescom Conference. Once completing the teaser a man is shown walking down a dark and dank street, the names of del Toro and Kojima are revealed before the character turns toward the screen revealing none other than Norman Reedus.
Similarly to Kojima's crazy marketing scheme behind 'The Phatom Pain' which was later revealed to be Metal Gear Solid V, teasing has been going on about this new game for quite some time. Below is a tweet Kojima posted quite a while back in April of 2013 expressing his desire to do a game with both Reedus and interestingly Ryan Gosling.
I want to do 3D capture Ryan Gosling and Norman Reedus and make game with them.
